ESSAY WRITING IN THE COUNTRYSIDE

This was my working holiday to Kinver. My surrogate parents (in the absence of my own since summer 2005) have come to my rescue yet again and given me room and board for over a week to sort my academic life out.

Highlights included reading for and writing 5,000 words in essays, being able to have a bath in a tub that is clean, walking about in socks on clean carpets and beautiful walks along Kinver's canal and around the edge. It's beautiful as you can see. Nice to get some fresh air too.

This lock holds about 50,000 gallons according to the owner of this fine long boat. This was as close as I was prepared to get!! It was interesting to see how it worked. Simple but amazingly effective I think.

(Entrance/Exit to the lock)

In the wood near the canal is a small but old pet cemetery on the top of the hill. One poor cat or dog was killed on the railway and poor Whisper here didn't make out too good either.

WHERE IN ENGLAND?

I was just thinking that no one really knows where I live and have lived in England (aside from in loads of disgusting student housing!). This might give some of my fellow Canadians a better idea.

Basically, I first lived in the Midlands, moved to the North for my degree and to London for my teacher training. Next stop Canada.

Thanks to Google Maps, UK for the image.
